Wiltshire Gardens Trust members enjoy a programme of events throughout the year with garden visits and lectures by well known speakers. We visit many interesting gardens, some of which are not open to the public, and we meet friends with mutual interests. The surveying and recording of parks and gardens, both private and public, is an important part of the Trust’s work in order to keep a full list of Wiltshire green spaces, and we are sometimes involved or are consulted with County matters concerning planning. We support Plant Heritage which is the main organisation in Britain for encouraging the keeping and caring for various plant collections.
The Wiltshire Gardens Trust promotes the enjoyment of gardens and parks.
We are a garden charity that has been going for over 25 years and whose members enjoy a love of plants and gardens. We have various aims and shared interests from the conservation of local parks and gardens in the County to providing support and advice to our schools.
The Wiltshire Gardens Trust is a thriving society, with over 240 members. We seek to promote the understanding and enjoyment of Wiltshire's parks and gardens. The Trust is a charity that uses the funds that it generates to support a number of aims and objectives.
One of the principal initiatives of the WGT is to promote gardening in the grounds of Primary and Special Schools throughout the County. We are here to support and encourage those that are interested in developing their grounds for the benefit of the children, teachers and parents.
We always welcome new members and hope that you will join us and participate in our varied programme of events. Membership is open to anyone who is interested in gardens. Each member receives an annual calendar listing our events and the Journal twice a year.
